Privacy Policy

Gamma Workshop LLC (“Gamma Workshop”, “we”, “us”) develops and publishes consumer and hobbyist software. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who else handles it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It covers www.gammaworkshop.com and the applications we publish.

This website
The site is a set of static pages. It has no user accounts, no forms, no comments and no login. It sets no cookies of its own and permits none from anyone else. It loads no analytics, advertising, tracking or social-media code — every file a page needs is served from our own domain.
To deliver a page, our hosting and content-delivery provider necessarily processes the technical details of the request: your IP address, the address you asked for, the time, and the identifying string your browser sends. That processing is carried out by Amazon Web Services on our behalf, for the sole purposes of serving the site and protecting it from abuse. We do not combine it with anything else, and we do not use it to identify you.
Because we do not track visitors, there is nothing here for a Do Not Track header or a Global Privacy Control signal to switch off. We treat both as already satisfied.
If you email us
When you write to us we receive your email address, your message, and anything you choose to put in it. Mail addressed to our domain is handled in transit by Mailgun and delivered to a Google mailbox; both providers process the message in the course of delivering and storing it.
We use what you send only to answer you and to keep a record of the exchange. We do not add anyone to a mailing list on the strength of an email they sent us, and we do not pass correspondence to anyone else except where we are legally required to.
Our applications
Every application we publish discloses its own data practices in a place you can read before installing it: the privacy details on its store listing, together with any further notice shown inside the application itself. Those disclosures are specific to that application and are the ones that control. The principles below apply across all of them.
- Your content stays on your device. Settings, saved lists and similar content are held on the device, or in your own private cloud storage where the platform provides it. We do not receive a copy.
- We collect only what a feature requires. An application sends us information only where a feature cannot work without it, and the store listing says so.
- Diagnostics are opt-in and aggregated. Crash and performance reports reach us through the platform's own reporting, and only if you have chosen to share them in your device settings. They tell us what broke, not who you are.
- Third-party services are named. Where an application depends on an outside service to provide a feature, that service is identified in the application's disclosures.
- No advertising or cross-app tracking. We do not include advertising software development kits in our applications, and we do not include analytics that follow you across other companies' apps and websites. We do not ask for permission to track you, because we have no use for it.
- Permissions are asked for in context. Where an application needs access to something the operating system protects — location, microphone, notifications, local network — it asks at the point the feature is used, and explains why. You can refuse, and change your mind later in your device settings.
What we never do
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined under California and other US state privacy laws.
- We do not use your information to build advertising or marketing profiles.
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Our software is not directed at children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for. Correspondence is kept while it is useful for support and for our own business records, and is deleted after that. Technical request data held by our hosting provider is retained on their standard short operational schedule.
Where it is processed
Gamma Workshop is based in the United States, and our service providers process data in the United States. If you use our website or applications from outside the United States, your information will be transferred there. Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies to a transfer, we rely on our providers' standard contractual clauses and equivalent safeguards.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to receive a copy in a portable form, to object to or restrict certain processing, to opt out of sale or targeted advertising (we do neither), and to withdraw consent you previously gave. Residents of California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut and other US states with comprehensive privacy laws, and people in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, have rights of this kind.
To exercise any of them, write to hello@gammaworkshop.com. We will not treat you any differently for asking, and we will answer within the time the applicable law allows — generally 45 days under US state law and one month under the GDPR. We may need to ask you for enough information to be confident of who you are before we act. Because we hold very little, our first answer is usually to tell you what, if anything, we have. You may also use an authorised agent where the law provides for one, and you have the right to appeal a refusal — reply to our decision and a person will reconsider it.
Where the GDPR applies, our legal bases are: our legitimate interests in operating and securing the website and in answering correspondence; the performance of a contract where you have bought something from us or asked us for support; consent where we have asked for it; and compliance with legal obligations. If you are in the UK or the EEA you may also complain to your national supervisory authority.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS only, with modern transport security and a restrictive content security policy. Access to correspondence and to our hosting accounts is limited to the people who need it and is protected by multi-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure and we do not claim otherwise, but we will tell you promptly if a breach affects you and the law requires notice.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. If a change is significant we will say so on the page rather than leave you to spot it. A change affecting what an application collects will also be reflected in that application's store privacy details before the version that makes the change is released.
